Nancy has been a hygienist for over 30 years, and she has been our Executive Director since April 2014. She loves working at DHA because she gets to help people in need. She hopes that in the future DHA is able to expand its services to include pediatrics, special needs, and elderly patients.

Lilly joined the DHA team in December 2015, bringing 20 years of experience as a Registered Dental Hygienist. She has also served our community as a clinician and educator. She says DHA has been her most challenging and rewarding role by far. Her staff agrees that if Lilly were a superhero, she would be “Wonder Woman!”

If she were a superhero she would be “Captain America” because “he is always looking after the little guy.”

Meredith started her career in 1992, in Minnesota. She pursued a Master’s degree in Clinical Microbiology. This led to eleven years as a laboratory technologist at the Mayo Clinic. After moving to Texas she began volunteering with DHA and officially joined our team in 2017. What she loves about DHA is seeing patients who may have fallen behind in their dental needs, and helping them back to health. When not working, she can be found with her Afghan Hounds competing in dog shows or relaxing by a pool.

Glenda has worked at DHA since 2004 and has led the SMILES team as their program director since 2006. She loves her job because of the great work her team gets to do for children in Arlington, who may not otherwise have access to the quality dental care and education they need to have healthy lives. She also loves the smiles she gets from all the kids. She says that something many people don’t know about her is that she is actually very shy.

“In 1991, Dr. Tamyra Maxey earned a Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Science from Texas A&M University and graduated from Baylor College of Dentistry in 1995 with a Doctor of Dental Surgery.  She began her career practicing in a pediatric dental office and many years later moved into the mobile dentistry setting to provide comprehensive dental services to low-income children.  As her passion for public health grew, she found herself serving as the SMILES Program Dentist for Dental Health Arlington.  With over 10 years in this capacity, she simultaneously has been educating dental hygiene students at El Centro since 2012.  In addition, she supports her husband’s busy dental practice.  Dr. Maxey also enjoys volunteering for Cook Children’s Save a Smile program and is a longtime member of the ADA and the ADEA organizations.  Dr. Maxey met her husband of 28 years during dental school, and they have two daughters.  Dr. Maxey enjoys traveling to beach resorts, reading mystery novels, watching true crime documentaries, and “decompressing” with friends at the local Mexican restaurant.”

Jessica started with DHA in August of 2023.  In 2021, she met DHA staff through the Greater Arlington Chamber of Commerce, which eventually led to her being in charge of the marketing for Love That Smile 2023, prior to joining the team.  She is ecstatic to now work for DHA, citing that being able to market and advocate for the organization that makes such a difference in the community is her favorite part.

Melony has 27 years of experience as a registered dental hygienist and feels blessed to be part of the SMILES team….again! She has been married to the man of her dreams for the past 32 years. She and Kevin are the parents of two adult children. They have lived in Mansfield for the last 15 years. She looks forward to talking with the kids about the importance of brushing and flossing and about using their God-given gifts and talents for their good and His glory…always having some fun while doing it. She loves to cook and read….not necessarily reading about cooking, though. “Everyday I try my very best to work hard, be kind and tell at least one joke!!”

Scott Parsinen is a proud husband, Dad and die-hard UT Arlington Alumnus.
He is a lifelong entrepreneur having started or helped expand more than 10 startups including dental biotech companies etkonUSA, 2C Dental and Cadmus Dental and has always chosen to be based in Arlington, Texas.

Scott is a technology innovator with over 30 years of business experience and 15 years in digital dentistry which led to the acquisition of etkonUSA by dental implant giant Straumann where he stayed on and continued to help educate others and further implement digital dentistry into the industry.

He then continued his dental career path helping Whip Mix and Biomet 3i launch their digital dental divisions until launching his own company from within the walls of UTA’s Startup Lounge in 2016.

Scott enjoys traveling with his lovely wife Melissa and visiting with their grown children and grandson.

He is a Board Member of the Downtown Arlington Management Corporation, a champion of the Startup community working closely with the Greater Arlington Chamber of Commerce and Arlington ISD, a 1Million Cups organizer, Co-founder of House of Genius Arlington and mentors several entrepreneurs of all ages.

Scott truly has a passion for caring for others and using his skills and experience to help others overcome adversity and build their dreams.

Kecia Mays is a mother of three young men and has been married for 23 years. She was inspired to volunteer from a young age where she was a big sister in the Dallas Big Brother and Sister Program. She remained close friends with her little sister until she passed a few years ago from Lupus. She then became Vice President of the Dallas Urban League Guild which was a non-profit that assists with job applications and she spearheaded a youth program that targeted teenage females to have self confidence, hygiene and public speaking, Once she began having her own children, she served on their schools PTA from elementary through high school as Treasurer, Budget & Finance, Secretary, Vice President and President. She eventually became a board member of the Arlington Council of PTA’s where training and support is provided to all PTA’s in the Arlington district. Her love for PTA went so deep, she was selected to serve as a Texas PTA Field Service Representative where she had the opportunity to train and set up new PTAs in her respective area in Texas. She is a recipient of the Honorary Life Membership Award and Extended Service Award. As her sons continued through Arlington ISD, she served on the basketball and football booster clubs, as well as community ISD committees. She served on Future Financial Committee, Capital Needs Steering Committee and the first ever Citizens Bond Oversite Committee where she served as Chairman. Her love and newly found knowledge for the Arlington School District led to her, with her families support to run for the Arlington ISD School Board where she is going into her 3rd term and is currently the presiding President. Her love for students goes beyond the district and reaches to non-profit groups that have a direct impact on students. She currently sits on the board for Dental Health Arlington, Salvation Army Advisory Board, The Legacy Foundation and the Arlington Life Shelter. All three of her young men are attending separate colleges but her love for the Arlington ISD and students throughout the community is still strong.

Stephanie has over 18 years of experience in accounting and auditing. For 15 years, she performed audits of nonprofit organizations with a CPA firm located in Arlington, Texas. In her last last 2 years with the firm, she served as an audit partner on her engagements.
She earned her Bachelor of Science in Accounting, Summa Cum Laude, and her Master of Science in Accounting from the University of Texas at Arlington (UTA). She is licensed as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) in the state of Texas.

She is very active in the Texas Society of CPAs (TXCPA) and currently serves on the Board of Directors for the organization, at both the state level and for the Fort Worth, Texas chapter. Through the TXCPA, she enjoys leading trainings for fellow CPAs and speaking to accounting students to encourage them to become CPAs.

She is also very involved with the Greater Arlington Chamber of Commerce Women’s Alliance. She was proud to serve as the Chair for the 10th Annual Inspired Women Luncheon in 2021, where the Women’s Alliance awarded over $20,000 in scholarships to women enrolled at UTA and Tarrant County College (TCC).

She also serves on the Board of Directors for Higher Education Servicing Corporation, a nonprofit organization that services student loans and promotes career- and college-readiness to high school students in Arlington, Texas.

Outside of work, she loves traveling to tropical locations, trying new restaurants, going to the theatre to see Broadway musicals, and binge watching tv shows on Netflix with her husband Patrick.

Laura Lopez Stinson has been in dentistry since one week after graduating high school. She trained as a dental assistant at Kelly Air Force Base in San Antonio and worked for the Texas State Health Department on a mobile dental unit that treated underserved communities all over south Texas. She received her Dental Hygiene degree from The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio and her bachelor’s degree in Allied Health Education form The University of Texas Health Science Center at Dallas (now UT Southwestern). She has worked in private practice, taught Dental Hygiene at Tarrant County College, and worked in Dental Sales. She was on the feasibility committee that began the process of establishing Dental Health Arlington, worked for the SMILES program, presented Continuing Education Programs for DHA, volunteers every year, and now serves as interim President Elect of DHA’s Board of Directors. Laura has been married to her husband, Norm, for 40 years and has three daughters and seven grandchildren.

Dr. Shad Hattaway is experienced with all aspects of dental health and has advanced training in dental case management – treatment phasing and full mouth rehabilitation which examines the functional and aesthetic aspects of the entire mouth, not just one tooth. His community background started in 2007 when he became the dental clinic coordinator for a grassroots community-supported free health clinic in Idaho. Since then, he has had a strong commitment to giving back to the community in which he resides. He treats both adults and children and especially enjoys building lifelong relationships with his patients. His commitment to his craft comes from a strong motivation to provide the highest quality dental care. Dr. Hattaway believes that patient education is one of the strongest forms of prevention. His goal is to help all patients understand how they can maintain their dental health. He has been involved with Dental Health for Arlington since 2015. He was introduced to their organization through his wife, Laureli, who was volunteering with her band for a small fundraiser. Since then he has volunteered countless hours to their cause and has been very passionate about promoting their mission. In 2017 Dental Health for Arlington presented him with the Sally Hooper Gold Crown Award for his dedication and service to DHA. That same year, he received the award for the New Dentist of the Year by the Dallas County Dental Society. “The thing that makes Dental Health for Arlington so special is their school-based educational SMILES program. In addition to creating a low-cost option for dental care in the community with their dental clinic, they have this educational program that helps to prevent dental disease through the education of children. The combination of their programs really helps to maximize their impact in the community. Dental Health for Arlington is such a wonderful organization and they continue to grow their impact every year. Thank you Dental Health for Arlington!”

Brig Serman spent over 30 years as a global sales executive with a major technology firm. In 2019, he founded Advanced Integrated Marketing to help leaders of small businesses harness technology to fuel growth. Brig and his wife Dawn are active in their church and the Arlington community supporting multiple charities, including Boys & Girls Clubs, Dental Health Arlington, Arlington Heritage Memorial Grounds, and Leadership Arlington. He is the recipient of the 2021 Sally Hopper Golden Crown Award.

David Curtis, Jr. currently is the Sr. Manager, Human Resources for 4over, LLC and HR Consultant & CO-Founder for his company HOPS HR. He has more than 14 years of progressive HR experience including experience in employee relations, organizational effectiveness, benefits administration, labor relations, and more. David is a successful business partner with a focus on building relationships and providing strategic direction.
David holds a Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) certification and SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) certification. He earned his Master of Science in Human Resource Management (MSHRM) and Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Texas at Arlington. He graduated from Texas A&M University with a Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies with a focus on Human Resource Development. David has been a member of the Society of Human Resource Management (SHRM) since 2009. David joined the Advisory Board for the Tarrant County College Human Resources program in May 2019. In his spare time, David enjoys spending time with his family, tasting new craft beers, and doing woodworking projects.

Daniel E. Blumberg is the founder of Blumberg Bagley PLLC, an Arlington, Texas law firm. An Arlington native, Dan has practiced law in the city for 35 years. Dan is board certified in Civil Trial Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization and is a Fellow of the College of the State Bar of Texas. He is also a member of the Texas Bar Foundation. Dan is admitted to practice law before the Supreme Court of the United States, the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals, all of the federal district courts in Texas and all Texas state courts.
Dan is also the author of a number of articles on law, politics and related matters as well as various works of fiction. Politically active, Dan has made presentations before various committees of the Texas legislature, has persuaded the legislators to pass and amend various statutes and has prompted Texas and federal courts to create or change various legal doctrines. Dan has served on the Board of Directors of Dental Health for Arlington for three years and has unexpectedly become its lawyer. In 2020 DHA bestowed on Dan its highest honor, the Sally Hopper Award.

Dan is a graduate of The University of Texas School of Law where he was a staff writer for The Review of Litigation, a publication that concentrates on litigation and related matters. Active in the community, Dan has been a member of the Rotary Club of Arlington, Texas since 1986, serves as its weekly publication’s managing editor, has served on its board and has chaired a number of its committees. He is also Secretary and a member of the Board of Directors of the Arlington Rotary Foundation, which provides college scholarships to about a hundred graduates of an Arlington Title I school each year. Dan and his wife, Charna, have been married for 36 years and are the parents of adult children. They belong to Beth-El Congregation, an area synagogue.

Amy Cooper has been a Registered Dental Hygienist since 1996, when she graduated from the Tarrant County College Dental Hygiene program, where she currently serves as an Assistant Professor and Second Year Clinical Coordinator. Her students rotate through DHA in their second year to provide prophylaxes and Non-Surgical Periodontal Therapy for children and adult patients and to gain service-learning experience. She has a master’s degree in Health Care Administration from UTA and has been a resident of Arlington for 42 years. Amy has been a member since 1996 is a current member of the Greater Fort Worth Dental Hygienists’ Association, where she has held many offices, such as Vice President, Fundraising Chair and Secretary. She also taught Sunday School for 6 years when her two sons were little and currently likes to do some volunteer cooking for various holidays and services. In her spare time, Amy likes to practice her skills as an amateur cookie decorator.

I was born and raised in the heart of Arlington, TX and have always been grateful to this community for supporting me and lending a hand to my parents in helping shape me into who I am today.  It is my privilege being an older sister to my siblings and also the youth director at the Vietnamese Martyrs Catholic Church.  Everything that I do and everything that I stand for is an ongoing love letter to them.

I am married to my work at DPC Health, a membership-based clinic that provides primary, urgent, emergent care needs as well as weight loss, hormone replacement therapy, and aesthetics.  Being a part of the healthcare field has always been my first love.  It is my honor to be a part of Dental Health Arlington to contribute to a wonderful organization that is catered to the community that loved me in first.

Maureen Maidlow is an Investment Advisor with OverRidge Wealth Advisors. She has often been accused of greeting everyone she meets with a smile and striking up a conversation. Maureen has lived in Arlington for 34 years. In her free time, Maureen is active in her church teaching in the youth group, on the board of the Greater Arlington Chamber of Commerce and past chair of Recovery Resource Council. Maureen and her husband, Brad, have two children and a great son-in-law and a pup named Lexi.

Megan Brett was born and raised in Arlington with a passion for service, specifically in the dental field. She is a bold, energetic, servant leader with a love for helping others. She graduated in 2022 with her Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Sciences from Texas A&M University, with a minor in Public Health. She spent all her educational years planning to continue on to dental school. Because of this, she has extensive experience in various dental settings. Megan served as committee chair and Secretary of the TAMU Pre-Dental Society, worked as an Orthodontist Assistant and Pediatric Sterilization Tech, and accumulated over 120 shadowing hours in different dental offices.

After being accepted to multiple dental schools, Megan felt called to take her skills and passions elsewhere. Megan is now a Sales Representative for B9Creations, a 3D printer manufacturer. This position has provided the opportunity to bring business solutions utilizing technology in industries such as dental, medical, aerospace, jewelry, and more! Megan is also a member of the Greater Arlington Chamber of Commerce and currently serves on the Partners in Education committee.
Outside of work, Megan is a proud dog mom to her goldendoodle Maverick. She loves to be outdoors, attend sporting events, and is always stirring up some form of adventure. Megan finds true joy in helping others. With her compassionate heart and competitive spirit, she will do anything to leave a smile on friends, family, and strangers’ faces!

Robert D. Maxey, DDS

In 1991 Dr. Robert D. Maxey earned a Bachelor of Science in Psychology degree from Baylor University. He then graduated from Baylor College of Dentistry in 1995 with a Doctor of Dental Surgery degree. After graduation, he completed an AEGD residency at Sheppard Air Force Base as a Captain in the United States Air Force. He began his private practice career in 1998 at The Dental Place in Grand Prairie and has remained at that same practice for 25 years. He began as one of three dentists at the practice, but now serves as the sole practitioner with two dental hygienists. For several years he volunteered his time screening children for sealants at various elementary schools in the GPISD and has also performed no-cost dental care for needy patients while participating in the Donated Dental Services program. In addition, Dr. Maxey is a member of the Dallas County Dental Society, the TDA, and the ADA.

Dr. Maxey and his wife of 28 years met in dental school and they have two daughters. Their older daughter is earning her Doctorate in Occupational Therapy at University of Texas Medical Branch Galveston, while their younger daughter is at Tarleton State University studying kinesiology in preparation for obtaining her Doctorate in Physical Therapy.

Dr. Maxey enjoys cruising, traveling to beach resorts, going to the gym, and “decompressing” with friends at various local Mexican restaurants.
